THE MASKEW MILLER LONGMAN LITERATURE AWARDS
Maskew Miller Longman invites you to submit your unpublished and
original short story. Entries will be judged by prominent literary
figures in each of our 11 official languages.
The short story should appeal to South African youth (aged 15 to
18 years) of today and should be suitable for prescription at Grades
10 to 12. The length of the manuscript submitted should be between
1 000 and 5 000 words.
Closing date: 31 May 2008.

SHORT STORY WORKSHOPS
To assist writers with the submission of their original and unpublished
short stories Maskew Miller Longman will be hosting writers workshops
across various provinces in South Africa. Literary expert Dr Riana
Scheepers, will provide guidance and useful tip on how to create
a successful short story.
